Who we are!
Our roots date back to the late 1970's with ERT founder getting started in the environmental industry as one of California's first licensed asbestos abatement contractors. From there in the 1980's he transitioned away from abatement and focused on inspection, testing, and consulting of not only asbestos, but other enviornmental hazards. Our roots in the Bay Area are deep and go back many years, and company names over those years changed but finally transitioned into ERT in 1997.
Our experience in the environmental consulting field is vast, we have performed thousands of inspections and testing for clients in the Bay Area over the past 25 years. Our pricing for services is at or below other competetive consulting firms in the area, and we are sensitive to your needs and budget. Our services are comprehensive and site specific. ERT services residential and commercial properties. Our clients in the past have been government, contractors, homeowners, realtors, renters, school districts, and property managers.
ERT customer service is personal, we treat you and your property as if it was our own families. We are not salesy and don't scare you into doing more costly service than what is needed to meet your needs or concerns. Our service pricing is fixed and upfront, unlike other consulting firms that may provide you a site fee plus additional TBD samples at an extra cost. We also don't perform abatement or removal, only inspection and testing, so there is no conflict of interest. You can trust us, we have your best interest at heart. ERT also partners with some of the best analytical laboratories in the industry that are licensed and certified, ensuring that your results are accurate and concise.
The reports you receive are site specific, comprehensive, and include detailed recommendations. We will not indicate a problem without providing you unbiased remedial recommendations. Too many other environmental consulting firms are quick to take samples and provide you lab analysis reports, but with little else in the form of diagnosis and guidance. This problem unfortunately has plagued the enviornmental industry for years, individuals performing environmental services without an extensive environmental background. This leads to sometimes cheaper testing services for you, but incompetence with the individual performing the testing can influence the results with even the interpretation of said results being negatively influenced as well. You get what you pay for.
ERT maybe a small business, but we provide better services than our peers in the environmental consulting industry. Why? Because many of the bigger environmental companies "consultant mill" employees hiring young inexperienced individuals just out of college to pay them an hourly wage to conduct these inspections and testing. Many of these companies pay for these young employees to be certified and trained. However, these employees years of experience and tact are deficient, and the companies hierachy doesn't oversee them attentively. This sometimes results in inadequate reports and lab results if services performed onsite are not comprehensive or performed with forethought. At ERT all of our services are performed by individuals in the field that have minimum of 25 years experience in the environmental industry.
Don't spend good money after bad. Hence, don't choose the wrong company for environmental testing that fails to meet your needs or address your concerns.
